Weslyn had turned slow enough just in time to catch the discomfort in Chaora's face. She had taken her seat quickly after, sitting with hands daintily placed in her lap. They didn't stay still for long though; instead Weslyn begun nervously dragging them across the lower half of her sun dress, smoothing out wrinkles that weren't there. To be honest, the seadweller had begun spacing out, her fuchsia tinted eyes staring off at nothing, vaguely in the direction of Chaora as she made the tea. Weslyn only snapped back into the current time when said tea was placed in front of her, plumes of steam rising off of it.

Anxiously, she blew away the steam, manicured hands gently closing around the mug. The warmth was a welcome feeling to Weslyn; she already was often cold being a fuchsia blood, but it gave her something to focus on besides the ball of anxiety forming in her stomach. Weslyn was never taught how to work with quadrants. She was raised being shoved in and out of superficial matespritships, just for show for the galas and other social events she was forced to go too. All Weslyn knew how to do was to smile and accept it, and to not feel too down about it when the event was over, along with said relationship. But this was a whole new ballpark for her: this was potentially a legit relationship, and one that covered a quadrant she had never been in before, even superficially.

The fuchsia's grip on the mug tightened, her breath catching momentarily as Chaora broke the silence. 'Quadrant talk.' Weslyn couldn't look up at Chaora, instead staring intently at the mug and the steam rising from the heated drink, mulling over in her head what she wanted to say. She knew that Chaora really didn't care for all of the fancy manners and courtesy that Weslyn habitually fell into. Part of her wanted to keep away from her uptight sounding language, feeling bad, but wasn't the whole point of a kismesitude about annoying the other half? "Yes." Weslyn answered simply, raising the drink to her lips for the first time, blowing against it lightly again before sipping. Pink nails gently tapped against the side, humming lowly. "I...am harboring...black feelings for you." Wes' speech was slow: not exactly a stutter, but just drawn out and hesitant, unsure of how to say things. After a moment, her fuchsia eyes flicked up to meet Chaora's orangish ones, expressionless as she awaited to see the lowblood's reaction to her words.

Quietly and curiously, Cosmos watched him as he took a moment to take everything else surrounding him in; the sky, the surroundings, his quest bed... A smile appeared on her face again, the girl’s arms lightly crossed as she watched her boyfriend bask in the sun. It was honestly adorable to watch, but also she knew just how happy having his eyes back made Rhuzio. The tealblood couldn’t help but let out a gentle, soft laugh, letting her arms drop when his focus came back onto her.

Cosmos really hadn’t stopped to take in the beauty of SGRUB for herself just yet. She had been busy making sure she didn’t die, that others didn’t die, that everyone didn’t try to kill each other...basically acting as a mom friend most of the time. She didn’t mind keeping an eye on everyone; it kept her thoughts from turning too dark, plus it tired her out enough that she was ready to pass out at the end of the day instead of sitting and stewing in her own thoughts. But for now her focus was her wonderful matesprit, who was... probably the most beautiful thing in her life. Rhuzio did so much for her, more than he would probably ever know. So watching him be so joyful about his sight really just made her all the more happier— at least, as much as she could be after witnessing her matesprit get murdered and then having to drag his body to his quest bed.

Cosmos was snapped out of her thoughts as Rhuzio stepped towards her again, hands gently reaching up to squeeze her shoulders. Her own dorky grin grew on her face as she watched Rhuzio do the same, reminded yet again why she loved her matesprit so much. Next thing she knew, she was being dragged into a tight hug, Rhuzio burying his face in her thick curly hair. ”Please don’t die because of my hair,” She softly joked, arms wrapping around him and squeezing lightly. The tealblood couldn’t help but start to tear up at Rhuzio’s words, a light blush spreading across her face. Cosmos buried her head into his shoulder, a light purr emanating from her. She stood like that for a minute, her trip on her boyfriend tightening. ”Stop, you’re gonna make me cry you nerd,” Cosmos said, a forced laugh breaking out, half interrupted by a sob.

Sucking in a shaky breath, Cosmos forced herself to try and hold it together. No need to ruin Rhuzio’s moment of bliss. “I’m— I’m sorry, I just... I’m really glad you’re happy.”

ANY REASONING BEHIND THESE CHOICES?

a preview of parts of phex's personality -- all optional!

NAME: OOC wise, I just wanted a shorter version of the name Phexides, and also to separate the two character a bit since they're not completely the same. IC...well, her parents were gifted very plain sounding names, so they wanted to spice up their children's names and have a bit of fun with them.ALIGNMENT: Basically, it's a right in the middle alignment for her, although she'd be a bit more good leaning-- at this point in time. Her desire to do whatever it'd take in order to bring justice to the murderer of her parents tilts her more towards the Chaotic alignment, since she'd potentially be ready to throw a bit of morals and societal expectations to the side for it. She wouldn't throw hands this much with just anyone, though; only for her parents. Since she does want good for the general population, but she's not going to any extravagant lengths to bring good to them, it places her in the neutral category.MBTI: One of the thing's Phexis likes most about herself is her ability to sit and rationalize out plans before diving headfirst into a battle, so automatically she fits the 'tactician' title. She is much more introverted, tending to keep to herself and simply watch and observe. Phex is also more likely to trust her experiences, and logically think about consequences, rather than go with her gut feeling. Being alone especially, she likes planning how she's going to travel out. All of these things influence her into being an ISTJ.ZODIAC: Of course, while simply your sun sign doesn't give an in depth look at your personality, it does show what a character is like at the surface. In stereotypical fashion, Phexis is quite stubborn. Tauruses are also known for being persistent and independent. Although she didn't mean to end up so alone and independent from others, Phexis is rather self-reliant. She also has tunnel vision currently, completely focused in on the fact that she needs to find her parents' killer.FAVORITE COLOR?: This one is actually pretty easy. Phexis was born sometime around the end of April, so right when the leaves were starting to grow and show their greenery. Since her early childhood was the time she was closest to her family, Phexis was drawn towards greens and lighter blues.TEMPERAMENT?: Phexis' temperament is mostly phlegmatic, however the more specific mix of phlegmatic-choleric would work even better for her. She had a tendency to be more introverted, even around her family, at times. Although she prides herself on her fighting ability, Phexis would much rather talk it out and attempt to keep the situation calm (although she often finds herself accidentally saying just the wrong thing-- 1 charisma gang!). These are all traits of a phlegmatic temperament. On the flip side, with her focused nature and being goal-oriented, Phexis also leans more choleric. Although she wants to keep situations calm, as soon as she knows its going to shit, she can quickly become aggressive and resulting to making the situation worse then it might have been.

WHAT'S YOUR PAST?

My name is Phexis. But you already know that, don't you? I guess I should start with when I was little. I'll warn you, though. There'll be mentions of death, later on, so take caution, will you? And I can't guarantee if it'll be gore-free or not.

I was born to a litter of three. Me, and my two sisters: Anamphia and Arisia. We were like any normal children; we played our dumb little games and got our heads shoved into trouble. The important thing here was that we were tightknit. I mean, we had to be. It was us three, and our parents, and the occasional loner friend we'd come across. Our little family tended to stick to ourselves, and that was how we liked it.

Anamphia was the oldest. I mean, we were all from the same litter, but when it comes down to it, she was the oldest. Arisia was next, which means yours truly is the baby of the family. Again, we were all from the same litter, but for some reason, Anamphia always felt as if we-- Arisia and I-- got the most attention. She was the biggest troublemaker of the three, to be honest. She actually ended up running away a few times! My parents never punished her though. They were just glad to have their daughter home safe and sound.

That was basically my childhood. Just the five of us, wandering and surviving and living. Having only each other, we were all pretty close. Our parents would have never done anything to harm us. Like all beings, they made mistakes at times. But nothing irreparable. So I don't fully know why Anamphia kept running away.

When we were a bit older, our parents started teaching us the basics of survival. How to make a cozy nest so you don't freeze, how to hunt, and some basic battle moves. My siblings and my's favorite game at this point in time was ambushing each other with different attacks our parents had taught us. Fighting came pretty easy to us, at least for me it did. Hunting took a lot more work. I still remember the first piece of prey each of us caught. Arisia got it first; she had caught a good-sized vole. Anamphia caught a sparrow, and I was able to snatch a mouse. Mom and dad were very proud, even if it had taken us a bit to learn the ropes.

Everything was fine. We all were learning quickly, and soon we passed our first year of being alive. But... hmm. One day... one day we got up and Anamphia was gone. Usually, she ran away for a few days after a fight with one of us, but this time... she was gone. No warning. No catalyst event that made her leave. At that point, we just accepted that this was it; Anamphia was finally gone. She had learned how to survive, took those skills, and left. The four of us tried to push on, but...admittedly, it was hard. Our once lively family was much mellowed out by this.

The next few months were a blur. Sleeping, hunting, eating, sleeping. A constant cycle of nothing exciting, the question of 'will she ever return?' constantly in the back of our heads. Arisia and I had even talked about running away as well, though it was mostly her idea. More often then not, I was the one rationalizing and reminding her how heartbroken Mom and Dad would be. It was strange. At this point I started realizing that Arisia had been closer to Anamphia, while I was closer with our parents. It hurt, a little bit, to see Arisia start to pull away. It was as if Anamphia was the thread holding everyone together.

Of course, it was Anamphia. Queen of drama queens. A few months later, the damned cat showed back up again. Mom, Dad, and Arisia were ecstatic. Of course, I was too. But, I was also getting sick of the hide and seek games she was starting to play. Why was she allowed to just rip herself away from the family, then come back weeks later and be welcomed with completely open arms? There was no anger, from anyone. I had to bite down my frustration unless I wanted to be met with 'Aren't you happy to see your sister?'. At one point, I vented my frustrations to Arisia.

She proceeded to tell my parents. It was the first time they had ever scolded me.

Now I was the drama queen. Now I was the one pulling away. I still was amicable towards everyone, but some nights I spent angrily staring at the sky and walking around, trying to exercise my frustration out so it couldn't slip out with words. Besides, sleeping in meant having to interact with Anamphia less. Life went on as normally as it could be after that. We were reunited! Mostly.

Yet drama was never far behind for this family apparently. About...about a month later, um...

My parents were killed.

We woke up one morning to the bloodied, cold, lifeless bodies of Mom and Dad. Well, it was Anamphia who awoke us to tell us what she had found. It was no surprise she had found them first; Anamphia had always been an early bird. There were scratches all over their bodies, but the method of murder was a swift cut to their necks. I...I still remember the scene clearly. I don't know about the others, but I kind of shut down after that. It wasn't until that night that we got together and talked. This was the first...the first real conversation the three of us had had together since we were little.

It's sad this was what brought us back together. But that night, the three of us vowed something, something that I still haven't forgotten or given up on. We promised each other that no matter what, we would work together to find who did this to our parents. They-- they didn't deserve it. The next few months were a blur...not because there wasn't anything particularly exciting, but mostly because it was hard for me to do much. I can't remember exactly, but... at one point, the three of us split up. I think we all decided it would make it easier to search farther. I can't help but feel as if it was Arisia and Anamphia trying to kick me out of their little group though.

But whatever, I'd survive. I think this is about when I really started learning about the Legendaries. I ended up interacting with a lot more loners or small colonies during my travels (I tended to stay away from the big colonies; I was scared of what they'd be like). During this time, I also learned about Helena and Oordeel. Despite never growing up in a religious family, I had to admit, I couldn't help but be drawn to Oordeel and how he helped bring justice... I'm not quite sure if I'm a devout follower of him, but I admire what he's done.

Soon after that, I also began to pick up word about a new set of Trials. This grabbed my curiosity. Perhaps, if I entered these, it could help train me and bring me closer to finding out who my parent's killer was. After that, my mindset shifted. I was determined to get in to these Trials, for my Mom and Dad. If something created by these Legendaries couldn't help me solve this, nothing could.

Honestly, I don't really remember much around this time... it's been a generally pretty peaceful time, at least for me. The things I've heard about the red plague are kinda scary, though, and I can't help but wonder how Anamphia and Arisia are doing. As I traveled for this Paradise Valley, I tried to keep to myself as much as possible. There was no use, getting caught up with others. Instead, I trained alone, trying to hone my skills and prepare myself as much as possible for these trials that are waiting for me.

AND YOUR APPEARANCE?

You were stopped at the edge of Lake Clearwater, stopping from your travels momentarily for a drink. That's when you saw her. Orange and black splotches dotting across a tall white body, back legs slightly taller than the front-- the stereotypical build of a Japanese Bobtail. The molly even had the docked tail, the appendage being nothing more than a tuft of multi-colored fur on her rear end. The different colors on her body weren't soft splotches like most cats would've had-- no, most of them were a bit spikier in appearance, tendrils of color reaching out to encroach on the white.

She was clean looking. No scars were on her body. And her fur was shiny and soft-looking; sign of a well-kept pelt. You noticed, when she turned her head away from the lake, that her right ear had a grey stripe in a near-perfect circle. It was probably the most unusual part of her coat pattern. Her paw-steps were quick and light as she turned to walk away, finished from her break and ready to move onto wherever she was needed next. As this mysterious molly moved, you finally caught a glimpse of her face, and was met with bright, copper colored eyes. Ones that held a purpose behind them; whoever this was, this was a strong girl, and not a very social one at that.

She carried herself confidently, to an extent. Not tall, and strong, as a normal, cocky cat would. This molly obviously kept to herself, not holding herself taller than her tall body already made her out to be. She didn't want to be in the spotlight. Her default expression wasn't quite a resting bitch face, but it had obviously been hardened by some sort of pain. You were left to wonder momentarily about what could have happened to her.

But in the blink of an eye, the bobtail was out of there as quickly as she appeared, silently slipping out of view to continue her journey to wherever.

main traits are bolded, second-hand traits are italisized

To an outsider... Phexis immediately comes across as closed off. She tends to pay others no mind as she passes through land, only politely asking if she could spend the night if she ends up near a small colony. She's a very private cat, reluctant to even give her name. She usually stays off by herself, distancing herself from interacting with other cats. In short, Phexis keeps herself solitary. Probably for good reason, too. The way she carries herself is a mix of confidence and gloom. The death of her parents has hung above her head ever since it happened, impacting her every move, and who wants to hang around a cat that's depressed all the time? However, she needs to stay focused; if she loses sight of her goal, she'll never find the culprit. To an acquaintance... Phexis, on the rare chance she actually has a conversation with someone, is quite awkward. Distancing herself from others as much as possible killed any social skills she previously had, and now, Phexis finds herself accidentally coming across as quite blunt. She tries not to be a complete asshole about it, though. Rather than outright saying she disliked or hated someone, she'd instead say something along the lines of 'Hey, buddy, sorry to break it to ya but I don't think your personality meshes well enough with mine for a friendship.' Although, at this point in time, she'd turn down mostly everyone in terms of friendship. Along with being blunt, Phexis finds herself being critical. She tends to complain a lot, whether it's about the weather, the cats around, or simply how much life sucks. But, as another cat is slowly let into Phexis' mindset, they'd learn that she really values being formal. Her mouth may be somewhat of a loose canon, but she does hold some respect for everyone she comes across, and *tries* to treat them as best as she can.To a friend... If you're able to be Phexis' friend, you've cracked a hard code. At this point, she'd let someone in on some of the things she enjoys doing. The main thing includes planning out strategies for fictional attacks in her head. With her highest stats being in intelligence and fighting, she works them together by being tactical. However, this doesn't just apply to the battlefield. Phexis tries to consider the quickest way of doing things, and she's usually able to decide what to do pretty fast. Plus, at this point, you're probably stuck with Phexis, and that means you might get stuck in a tricky situation. Luckily, Phexis is a quick-thinker! Depending on the situation, Phexis can become irritable rather hastily. In general interactions... Phexis is rather standoffish, however she does attempt to be respectful to all, even if she slips up. Her most frequent interactions often turn sour. Phexis will attempt to keep the situation calm and under control, but due to her nature of being blunt, as well as her low charisma in general, she often accidentally makes these situations worse. If she finds she already made the situation worse, Phexis generally switches into a more aggressive mindset, and this often ends in quick squabbles, oftentimes getting somewhat physical. Luckily, she hasn't gotten seriously injured. Yet.

in-depth look @ main traits:

Tactical: Phexis finds her hobby in creating tactics and finding ways to do things efficiently, just in case the need ever arises. Most of her down time is her dreaming up random battles and wondering what strategies would be good to counter the enemy.Decisive: When you're on the road alone, you gotta learn how to make decisions quick. Especially when it comes to getting into a fight with someone, you have to figure out if you're going to run, argue, or initiate getting physical. It also comes in handy when figuring out where she wants to go next, and if a clue she thinks she found is worth it or not.Quick-Thinking: This goes hand in hand with being decisive. Arguments turn physical rather quickly, and Phexis has to know how to employ her strategies well in battle, or risk getting fatally injured. It also has helped her get out of a social situation or two, when strangers or a colony try to rope her into something during a stay.Focused: Although many could consider this a good trait, often times it works negatively for Phexis. She's developed a tunnel vision; she has to find her parent's killer. The one thing she doesn't know, is what she's gonna do if she doesn't find them. If Phexis learns how to apply her attention properly, this could easily sway into one of her better qualities.Solitary: While forcing herself to stay away from others, Phexis often has everyone else's best interests at heart. She doesn't want pity, she doesn't want others to listen to her sob story. Phexis just wants to keep moving and reach her goal. But, it's hurting her on the inside; it's hard to tell, but she's actually quite lonely.Formal: Not only does her desire to keep others out hurt her chances of developing friendships, but her over-formality can as well. Phexis tends to address everyone as sir or ma'am, or whatever a cat prefers. She also treads very carefully while in another colonies camp, scared that one wrong move and she'll damage something important. Being overly formal like this can make other cats feel just as awkward as she does.Blunt: Although she doesn't mean to be, being blunt is part of Phexis' life. It's the quickest way to get to what info she needs and/or wants. If she really messes up, it could send her into some deep trouble, so Phex really needs to watch her mouth.Critical: Silently complaining to herself in her head, Phexis is always finding the negative side of the moon. Sunny weather? Well now she's too hot. Windy? Her fur is getting messed up. Phexis always has to find something to complain about, probably to try and make herself feel better for how crap she feels inside.Gloomy: Phexis doesn't know how to let things go. Of course, she can still grieve over her parents, but she lets this sadness control her. It's like she has a walking raincloud above her head, just signalling to other cats that 'watch out, this one is upset! All the time!'. Get this girl a therapist.
